Alyssa Hurtado is an actor, singer, dancer, and writer from Round Rock, TX (do you know how tempting it was to just say “Austin?”). She graduates from Texas State University in the spring of 2026 with a BFA in Acting and minor in Dance. Sunny San Diego, California will become her new home this June!

Alyssa is the youngest of three, and it shows. She survives off of sunshine, sour gummy bears, funny TV shows and heartbreaking books. If you look outside your window on a warm day, you might just catch her rereading Madeline Miller’s only two novels and weeping.

From her self-written short film “PENNY!” that explores themes of acceptance and belonging to her most recent role in the politically relevant Describe the Night, Alyssa strives to tell stories that change hearts and minds. She takes delight in revealing hidden worlds living within the people and systems we think we know everything about.

Alyssa’s goal is to always, as we say at Texas State, find the joy in the work!
